Description

MicroComputed Tomography (microCT) data sets for wild type mice and for osx-cre mice for Cell Systems paper “Resolving the design principles that control postnatal vascular growth and scaling” by Pi, Braun et al., 2025.

There are two directories in this record: one for wild type mice and one for cre-osx mice. Underneath these two parent directories, each data set is in the form of a stack of reconstructed slices (TIF or BMP format) stored in a directory named by the date the data were collected and the specimen name. The first several images in each directory are alignment images. Metadata for each scan are recorded in a text file accompanying the directory. Typically, the author of this record (S.R. Stock) loads the images within a directory into ImageJ reconstructed slices using the Import/image sequence starting at image 10.

The naming convention for each specimen (animal) follows the following scheme: Pd-xx. Age is given by “Pd” where d =  a, b, c, … days. Male animals are designated by number xx which is a single digit, i.e. 1, 2, 3, … Female animals are designated by number xx starting at 11.
