This lecture includes a description of the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS) Biostatistics Collaboration Center; a discussion of independent observations; a discussion of the mean versus the median in statistics; the use of Excel for data capture, cleaning or analysis; a comparison of Excel to alternative tools such as REDCap, Stata, etc ; right-sizing the data used in a research project.Acknowledgements
