Description
This course was presented on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Medical Library Association Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The course is available by request through the Medical Library Association Medlib-ed website: http://www.medlib-ed.org/.
Abstract
Increasingly, librarians are involved in tracking research dissemination and impact. We will provide a solid background on dissemination and demonstrate the practical application of a variety of tools. We will equip participants with the knowledge to help patrons create better dissemination strategies and inspire compelling impact statements.Takeaways for this course will not only include foundational knowledge, but also practical information that participants can bring back to their institutions. Participants will: identify the scope of their role in partnerships with faculty, investigators, and researchers; expand their understanding of research dissemination to various audiences; increase proficiency with dissemination tools and awareness of context; develop strategies for writing plain language summaries of research; discover tools for tracking attention and impact of research; learn how to report the attention a researchers work receives.Other
