Abstract
This paper presents a policy analysis of the 2016 spike in shootings in Chicago. In addition to reviewing unpublished and published literature, telephone interviews were conducted with two Northwestern sociology department faculty national experts: Wesley Skogan and Andrew Papachristos. The paper provides an overview of the multiple controversies surrounding interpretations and policy implications of how this period is viewed historically.Files
